What we did
- All text is real text, with measured contrast of at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and controls.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link.
- Every form field has a visible label, errors appear next to the field and are announced, and multi-step forms announce each step.
- Pinch-zoom is never disabled. Text reflows on small screens.
- A motion switch in the menu turns off smooth scrolling and animation. The site also follows your device’s “reduce motion” setting.
- The 3D night map and the 3D demo scenes are decorative and hidden from screen readers; everything they show is also plain HTML.
- Silent preview films play only while they’re on screen. The motion switch stops them and every other animation, and they never play when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Lights never flicker more than once a second.
How it was tested
Last tested : automated axe-core checks (WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules) on all 25 pages with no violations; every page at five screen widths from 360 to 1440 pixels; a keyboard-only pass (skip link, menu, forms, sliders); a reduced-motion pass; contrast measured for every text and background pair; and a review of the accessibility tree that screen readers receive.
Known issues
- The Calendly booking calendar is controlled by Calendly. If you have trouble with the calendar, call, text or email instead.
- The concept websites for fictional businesses are full demos with heavier motion and 3D. They follow the same rules (keyboard, contrast, motion switch), but they’re showpieces, so some decorative detail is described more briefly.
- Preview films and poster images of the concept websites contain small text that is decorative; the same information is on the concept websites as real text.
- Screen-reader testing so far is a review of the accessibility tree, not a full session with NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver. A hands-on screen-reader test is planned before launch.

For our clients
Ontario’s AODA website requirements currently apply to organisations with 50 or more employees. We build every client site to WCAG 2.2 AA anyway, because many clients have contracts that require it and because it works better for everyone.
